Beauty comes from you
What is PRP Therapy?
PRP Therapy, also known as Platelet-rich Plasma Therapy is a natural, non-surgical way of reviving your body using your own blood. Think of it as your body donating healing properties to where it’s needed most. The healing platelets from your blood can then be introduced to places that need some extra repair. Some areas include scalp, undereye, and face.
What to Expect: PRP
Before your PRP treatment:
- Hydrate well the day before
- Avoid alcohol, Advil, and fish oil 48 hrs before
- No makeup or creams
During your appointment:
- We numb the area beforehand, so it’s more pressure than pain
- We take a small sample of your blood (like a basic lab draw)
- That sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the golden plasma
- Plasma is reintroduced into targeted areas through small injections
- The full process takes around 45–60 minutes
After your appointment:
- Expect mild redness, swelling, or pinpoint marks for 1–3 days
- No workouts, makeup, or sun exposure for 24 hours
- Stick to gentle skincare while your skin is healing
- Results build over time

Your Questions Answered:
prp faqs
Yes. As PRP treatments use your blood, there is a low chance of anything incompatibility in blood like an allergic reaction or infection.
The ideal candidate for PRP is in good health and looking for a less invasive way of promoting rejuvenation in areas of your body. However, if you’re possess any blood disorders, infections, or are on anticoagulant medications, PRP is not recommended.
Please consult with a qualified healthcare provider about your condition and medical history to find out if PRP injections are right for you.
The injections start with drawing a sample of your blood. After, this sample is placed into a centrifuge machine to spin your blood at a high speed – seperating its components. This isolates the platelets and growth cells from the rest of the blood, leaving a platelet-rich plasma solution. After this process is complete, the PRP is extracted and prepared to be injected into a target area after numbing.
The treatment may cause mild to minimal discomfort depending on the area that’s being treated and individual pain tolerance. There may be brief pinches or strings during the injection process but we numb the area to make for a comfortable experience.
For PRP skin and hair treatments, it’s recommended that you schedule 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to start your PRP therapy journey.
While you’ll notice results from the first session, more treatments will build up your collagen to solidify long-lasting results.
You will start seeing results 2 to 6 weeks after your treatment.
For hair, you’ll notice hair density, thickness, and a decrease of hair shedding.
For skin, you’ll notice improvements to the health of your skin, signs of aging, and a natural, glowy look.
PRP hair and skin therapy results typically last several months to a year. To sustain these results, it is recommended to set up a maintenance session every 6 to 12 months after the initial treatment.
The results you see at the peak of your treatment are generally not permanent. Thus, maintenance or multiple sessions are better suited for those looking for long-term benefits.
After your PRP treatments, it’s important to consult with your aesthetician about how to properly care for your skin until it’s completely healed. In general, avoid:
- Washing the treated area for 12 to 24 hours.
- Using harsh skincare products like retinoids or exfoliants.
- Applying makeup for at least 24 hours.
- Exposure to extreme heat (i.e. saunas, steam rooms, sun, hot showers).
- Heavy exercise or lifting that may cause further swelling or irritation.
- Drinking alcohol or smoking as it may slow down healing time.
Again, it’s best to consult with your aesthetician as they know your skin more precisely. They can also offer you alternatives to skincare for better results.
The downtime for PRP treatments is minimal, especially for hair or skin therapy. You should avoid any harsh activity in the first 24 hours after your treatment to make for the best healing process.
Since PRP therapy is an injectable treatment, it means that there will be some mild and temporary side effects that individuals may experience. This includes:
- Redness, swelling, or bruising where the sample was drawn
- Mild pain or tenderness where the PRP was targeted
- Skin irritation or warmth
- Headaches (in rare cases) after scalp or facial treatment
If you notice anything out of the ordinary, contact your aesthetician and healthcare provider for further assistance.
